Housing Needs Survey 2009
Wealden District Council has commissioned Fordham Research to undertake a new housing needs survey for the whole of the district.
Who will be sent a survey?
All households in rural parishes will be sent a questionnaire, with households in urban parishes of:
- Uckfield
- Heathfield and Waldron
- Crowborough
- Polegate and
- Hailsham
These are being randomly selected in order to provide a statistically representative cross-section of the views of local residents as far as possible.
When will the survey be sent out?
The survey will be distributed during the week of 8th June 2009, if you receive a questionnaire in the post please return it by 17th July 2009 in the pre-paid envelope provided.
Why complete the survey?
It is important that everyone completes and returns this survey as the findings will form part of the evidence for the 'Local Development Framework', which will guide future development in the District to 2026.
It is vital that the Council has this evidence to ensure affordable housing is built where it is needed and the right type and size private housing developments take place. The information will also help to provide specialist housing where needed e.g. for older people such as extra care.
Additionally, one lucky person will win £100 cash in the prize draw. All households that complete the survey will be entered into this prize draw.
Please be reassured that all the personal information collected in the survey by Fordham Research will not be disclosed to the Council.
