All Wealden’s tenants have been sent a 'Help us to help you' questionnaire

What is the reason for this?

Wealden District Council’s Housing Service is committed to providing excellent customer service standards. The questionnaire will help us to get to know your individual needs so that we can provide a better service.

Why should I complete it?

You are not obliged to completethe questionnaire but it is really important that we obtain this information so we can improve our service to you.

Is this not the same as the STATUS survey I have heard about?

No. This is a questionnaire created by Housing Services to get to know you and the members of your household to make sure that we have all the right information to help us help you. The STATUS survey is a national survey so that local authorities can report back to Government about the services Council tenants are getting and as it is anonymous it does not look at tenant’s individual needs.

How should I return it?

You should have received a Freepost envelope and have returned the completed questionnaire by the 30th September 2008.

What happens when I have sent the questionnaire in?

All information you give will be treated in the strictest confidence and held on your tenancy file. We may contact you to discuss any particular needs you personally have in accessing our services. Other information will be used on a more general basis without identifying individuals to help us improve the way we deliver our service.

Who should I contact regarding the Questionnaire?

You can contact Emma Luck on 01323 443279 or emma.luck@wealden.gov.uk

What happens if I haven’t returned my questionnaire yet, what do I do?

That is fine, we are still collecting the information so send the form in the free post envelope provided. If you require another copy of the questionnaire please
contact Housing Services on: 01323 443322.
We will be sending reminders out in mid-December to people who have not yet returned the questionnaire to us.

I would like to answer the questionnaire but I have an issue with some of the questions that were asked...

You are not obliged to answer any of the questions, however, Government legislation requires Wealden We had a huge response to the survey and as a result we have already put in place some improvements, such as:
Mrs X, Wadhurst has difficulty in reading our letters. In future, she will receive all
letters and statements in large print; and Mr Y, Hailsham, due to his reduced mobility, has difficulty answering the door quickly. In future we will make sure that officers and contractors calling from the Housing Service will wait long enough for him to open the door.

So what happens next?

All the information provided will be entered confidentially onto our system, any comments you have made will be passed to the relevant officer for action if appropriate. District Council to show that everyone using its services are treated fairly.
