FRAUD INTELLIGENCE OFFICER
20 hours per week
(Wednesdays 12pm-5pm, Thursdays & Fridays 8.30am - 5pm)
Salary Range: £9,705 - £10,202 pa
Based at Hailsham Office, East Sussex
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised individual to provide administrative and intelligence gathering support to the Fraud Investigators.
You will deal with customer enquiries, receive fraud referrals, and complete and maintain risk scores and workloads. You will also check and record calls received via the Freephone Benefits Fraudline, recording case details onto the Benefit Fraud computer system before allocating to an Investigator and gathering evidence as appropriate. Other duties will include arranging appointments, transcribing tapes from investigation interviews, checking claims, maintaining fraud statistics and case outcomes, and liasing with the Department for Work and Pensions.
You will need to be educated to GCSE Grade C or equivalent (in English and Maths), have good Microsoft Office skills and have a good understanding of Data Protection and Freedom of Information issues. You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, liasing with customers in a empathetic and sensitive manner.
Some experience in the use of document management and workflow systems, and experience of interviewing and investigative work is desirable. Some appropriate knowledge of legislation relating to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit would also be advantageous.
